Proper aftercare is essential to the health, healing, and final appearance of your tattoo. Every body heals differently, and aftercare may vary slightly from person to person. The final result of your tattoo depends largely on how well it is cared for during the first few weeks. Follow the instructions below carefully to ensure proper healing.

• Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your new tattoo.
   
• Remove the bandage or wrap 1–2 hours after your appointment.
   
• Gently wash the tattoo using lukewarm water, your hands, and a single-use liquid pump soap (such as Dial).
  Do not use bar soap.
   
• Pat dry with a clean towel and allow the tattoo to air dry for about 10 minutes.
   
• Once dry, wrap the tattoo with plastic wrap.
   
• Wash and rewrap the tattoo every 4–6 hours for the first 3 days, or until the tattoo stops weeping (producing excess fluid).
   

• Sleeping hours will be the longest stretch without washing.
   
• Immediately upon waking, wash your tattoo and repeat the steps above.
   
• Be sure all excess fluid (“weeping”) is fully washed off and the skin is completely dry before rewrapping.
   

• Switch to a fragrance-free, dye-free lotion such as Curel or Lubriderm.
   
• Apply a light layer as needed to keep the tattoo moisturized.
  Do not allow the tattoo to dry out.
   

• Peeling will begin within 3–4 days, similar to a mild sunburn—this is normal.
  Do not pick or scratch.
   
• Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 30 days.
   
• Do not swim, soak, or submerge your tattoo until it is fully healed
  (minimum of 30 days).
